Yamaha

The Yamaha Corporation is a multinational corporation based in Japan with a wide range of products and services; basically it manufactures musical instruments, motorcycles, power sports equipment, and electronics.

Yamaha was established in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer by Torakusu Yamaha as Nippon Gakki Company, Limited in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture, and was incorporated on October 12, 1897. The company's origin as a musical instrument manufacturer is still reflected today in the group's logo that is a trio of interlocking tuning forks. Yamaha made its entry in India in 1985.Then after, it entered into a 50:50 joint venture
with the Escorts Group in 1996. However, in August 2001, Yamaha acquired its remaining stake becoming a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC). In 2008, YMC made an agreement with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. to become a joint investor in the motorcycle manufacturing company which was named India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM).

Yamaha bikes are better known for their power and performance since last two decades of its operation in India, Yamaha has let the Indian bike freaks experience a whole new meaning of riding. With the 100 cc 2-stroke motorcycle RX 100, Yamaha started its glorious journey of conquering the two-wheeler Indian market.



The market was flooded with more advanced and improved Yamaha bikes models and new versions of Yamaha motor bikes. Yamaha Crux (100cc), Yamaha Alba (106cc), Yamaha Enticer, Yamaha Gladiator, Yamaha YZF, and Yamaha FZ were some of the popular ones. With a strong workforce of more than 2000 employees and a countrywide network of over 400 dealers, IYM operates from its state-of-the-art-manufacturing units at Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad in Haryana and produces Yamaha bikes both for domestic and export markets.
